Wrexham vs Peterborough: TV channel, team news and predicted line ups

Wrexham host Peterborough at the Racecourse Ground this weekend.

Wrexham will try to avoid consecutive League One defeats for the first time all season when they welcome Peterborough United to the Racecourse Ground on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Dragons began 2025 with a narrow 2-1 defeat at Barnsley, leaving them two points below an automatic promotion in third, while the Posh claimed a 2-2 draw with Burton Albion, as they sit 18th.

Home comforts

The Racecourse Ground has once again proven to be a massive advantage for Wrexham this season. Phil Parkinson’s side ended 2024 with seven wins in their last eight competitive fixtures at home, including back-to-back League One triumphs.

After their 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic, they have gone 20 competitive matches without a defeat at the Racecourse Ground. Wrexham also have seven clean sheets domestically at home in 2024-25, three fewer than they had at the Racecourse Ground last season.

Peterborough’s defensive woes

Darren Ferguson’s men have collected the ball out of their own net more often than they’d like this season, and boast the worst defensive record out of any League One side so far. They have also conceded three or more goals in one match seven times in the competition.

Paul Mullin’s resurgence

For as much criticism as Wrexham’s star man has received, Paul Mullin deserves some praise for his improvements in recent weeks. In the second-half on New Year’s Day, he was instrumental in his side’s attacks, forcing a big save out of Ben Killip and setting up their only goal. Mullin had 33 touches in the match, with one key pass, and one targeted effort.

Team News

Jack Marriott, who finished as the top goalscorer in the 2017-18 League One campaign with Peterborough, is dealing with a broken fibula, while James Jones has a sore foot, and Callum Burton is out because of a torn thigh muscle. Arthur Okonkwo was on the bench again Wednesday but could be back in the fold this weekend.

Peterborough will likely be missing one of their biggest attacking threats as leading goalscorer Kwame Poku (10 goals) has a hamstring strain, while Harley Mills sat out on Wednesday through suspension. Poku’s a huge loss for the Posh, given what he contributed before Christmas.

Meanwhile, Jed Steer, Mahamadou Susoho and Rio Adebisi were sidelined because of knocks the last time out.

TV Channel

Wrexham's home match against Peterborough will NOT be shown live on the Sky Sports+ channel in the United Kingdom due to the EFL determining it falls under ‘normal weekend’ broadcast restrictions. US viewers can watch full coverage on Paramount+.
