Wrexham vs Leyton Orient: TV channel, team news and predicted line ups

Wrexham host Leyton Orient in the League One fixture on Tuesday night.

Wrexham will look to maintain their perfect start to February as they host a resurgent Leyton Orient side at the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday night.

The Red Dragons moved to within two points of second-placed Wycombe Wanderers in League One following a 2-0 triumph at Northampton Town, while a stoppage-time strike lifted the O’s to a 3-2 victory over Lincoln City, putting them in the final playoff position.

Attack vs Defence

Since a shock 3-2 home defeat versus Stevenage, Wrexham have been much stronger on the back end as we’ve been used to seeing most of this season.

Phil Parkinson’s men have conceded a total of two goals in their last three matches across all competitions, posting back-to-back clean sheets.

On the opposite side, Richie Wellens’ side have come to life in the attacking third, scoring three goals in consecutive League One fixtures and 12 in their previous four encounters in this competitions.

Meanwhile, this season, the Red Dragons have posted seven clean sheets at home in League One, but they’ll be facing a Leyton team, unbeaten in six straight away games in this competition, with 15 goals scored.

Parky’s strong form against Leyton Orient

On Saturday, Phil Parkinson maintained his perfect managerial record against Northampton Town.  The Wrexham boss also seems to get his tactics right when facing Leyton Orient.

He’s only suffered one defeat in his eight previous Football League matches against them, losing 1-0 in 2010 with Charlton Athletic.

Summer signings making a difference

Both teams have had enormous contributions from their summer signings this season, enabling them to remain in the hunt for promotion.

On the Wrexham side, Ollie Rathbone had another massive showing for Parky’s side on Saturday, scoring their second goal while being a strong provider and showing poise in the midfield.

Lewis Brunt was one of Wrexham’s under-the-radar stars on Saturday and has been throughout the season. The former Leicester City defender had 79 touches while winning 13 of his 17 duels against Northampton, with seven clearances. For a side that’s been short on attacking quality much of the season, he’s been very strong defensively, with the Red Dragons posting eight clean sheets when he plays 90 minutes.

Orient, meanwhile, have gotten plenty of contributions from their summer addition, Charlie Kelman, on loan from Queens Park Rangers. The American leads them with nine goals and three assists in this competition, netting the winner over the weekend.

Lineup News

On Saturday the Red Dragons were without Elliot Lee, who was recovering after a minor car crash, Callum Burton sat out with a torn thigh muscle, while Luke Bolton and Will Boyle were out because of calf strains. Paul Mullin has recovered from his injury but was left off the team on Saturday.

Orient were missing Sam Howes against Lincoln City with a knock.
