Bristol Rovers vs Wrexham: TV channel, team news and predicted line ups

Wrexham travel to face Bristol Rovers in League One on Saturday.

Wrexham can win consecutive League One away fixtures for the first time all season when they travel to Memorial Stadium on Saturday lunchtime to battle old foes Bristol Rovers.

The Red Dragons dropped down to third in the table following a 2-2 draw with Cambridge United, while the Pirates are 20th after they were defeated 2-0 by Birmingham City last weekend.

Wrexham’s goalscoring form

Wrexham haven’t bulged the back of the net as frequently as we’re accustomed to seeing since Phil Parkinson took charge.

After 20 domestic matches the Red Dragons have scored 30 goals, a dozen fewer than they had at this stage of their previous campaign in League Two, though Parkinson’s men have been a lot more prolific against the weaker sides in League One this season.  Nearly half of their domestic goals this season (13/30) have been against sides currently seeded 20th or lower in the table, netting multiple times in five of those affairs.

They should have plenty of opportunities to score on Saturday, with Rovers allowing more overall shots (285) and shots on target (110) than any other team in the competition.

Rovers rue wastefulness

Many have questioned Wrexham’s quality in the attacking third this season, but Saturday’s opponents haven’t been great either.

Rovers have failed to find the back of the net in four successive matches across all competitions.

On the other hand, the Red Dragons have posted five clean sheets in their previous six competitive games. Wrexham have not conceded in their last three meetings with Bristol Rovers, winning all three of those encounters.

If they can claim a shutout victory against the Gas this weekend, it’d mark the first time since 2007 that they will have claimed successive EFL victories without conceding.

How to watch the match

Wrexham's trip to face Bristol Rovers will be shown live on the Sky Sports+ channel in the United Kingdom, with the match also streamed on the Sky Sports app. It will also be made available on to watch live on iFollow Wrexham.

Team News

Wrexham remain without Arthur Okonkwo (wrist) and Callum Burton (thigh) through injury, James Jones has a foot issue, and Jack Marriott remains sidelined with a broken fibula.

There were five newcomers to Bristol, starting with 11 against Birmingham, including Michael Forbes, Joel Senior, Kamil Conteh, Gatlin O’Donkor, and Luke McCormick.
