Huddersfield vs Wrexham: TV channel, team news and predicted line ups

Wrexham travel to face Huddersfield Town in League One on Tuesday night.

Wrexham will be hoping for another important away win as they look to keep their automatic promotion dreams alive against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

The Red Dragons head into the match two points behind Wycombe Wanderers in second following a goalless draw with Bolton Wanderers, with the Terriers in fifth after claiming a 2-1 win over Stevenage.

The promotional race is heating up

With just over a dozen matches remaining for most teams in League One the race for promotion is tightening up. Phil Parkinson’s men are within reach of an automatic place in the Championship, but several teams are just below them.

Huddersfield are one of them, currently in fifth and Stockport County in fourth, with two fewer points than the Welsh side, though the’ve each played one more match than Wrexham.

Eight points currently separate the Red Dragons from seventh-place Bolton and missing the play-offs entirely.

Catching form away from home

For a long time, playing away from home seemed to be holding Wrexham back, but lately, it’s kept them in the race for second.

The Red Dragons have won three successive away matches, their longest winning run in the Football League since August 2003 (seven away wins). They have only won one of their previous 11 Football League away games versus Yorkshire sides, defeating Rotherham United 1-0 in October. Three of their next four League One games are away from home.

Huddersfield have yet to win a home match in the league this year, failing to score a single goal in those five outings.

Back where it all began?

We probably won’t see much of Wrexham’s “Super” Paul Mullin down the stretch of this season, though maybe Parky will surprise us all and put him in against Huddersfield. After all, that is the club with which he began his senior career, signing a pro contract with them in 2012.

He never made a senior appearance there and should have plenty of motivation to show them up on Tuesday, though he’s unlikely to get that opportunity.

Dangerous duo

Michael Duff’s side hasn’t been a massive attacking juggernaut this season, though there are two players the Red Dragons will want to watch out for. Callum Marshall has goals in back-to-back games, leading them with eight this season, and Ben Wiles is right behind with seven, to go along with four assists. Wiles is third in the league per FotMob for chances created (69).

TV Channel

Wrexham’s trip to face Huddersfield Town will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports+ and streamed live on the Sky Go App.

US viewers can watch full coverage on Paramount+ with kick-off from 7:45pm GMT on Tuesday 4 March 2025.

Team news

Andy Cannon is set for a lengthy spell on the sideline after he suffered an cruciate ligament tear, Callum Burton remains sidelined with a torn thigh muscle, while Luke Bolton and Will Boyle are doubtful with calf injuries.

Knee injuries will keep Mickel Miller, Danny Ward, and Rhys Healey out of the Huddersfield lineup on Tuesday. Matty Pearson has a calf strain, and Herbie Kane will not be available after tearing his posterior cruciate ligament against Barnsley.
